Title: Metric Post by Kristilyn on Aug 22nd, 2004, 9:53am So, I managed to find an MP3 of Lucky Me on the net and I am absolutely in love with it! I love the pop sound of it. It's great to hear an artist evolve from the sparseness of Universe to the full sounds of Day One. It's really great. Anyway, I showed a friend of mine the MP3 and she really liked it. She said it had a Metric feel to it. Anyone know the Montreal band? I have to agree. The little piano parts in the background remind me a lot of Metric. Also, I have to comment on Sarah's voice for this album. I listened to Day One on the official site and her voice is just amazing - totally suited to this music. I'd love to hear Mary - I heard a poppy live version, and then the version that someone had posted here, which was a lot slower. Oh well, I guess I'll have to wait until the 14th. :( -K |

Title: Re: Metric Post by Nikolita on Aug 23rd, 2004, 7:17am Really?? I am a big Metric fan and I never made the association. I'll have to listen to Old World Underground again then throw on Lucky Me and see if I find comparisons. hmm... ~ng |

Title: Re: Metric Post by Kristilyn on Aug 23rd, 2004, 1:21pm You're right - Wet Blanket does have that feel to it. Actually, right now Metric sounds like a mix of the new Sarah CD and a bit like Sarah Harmer (the vocals definitely!). Oh Canada ... what will you bring us next? -K |
