For those of you not on Navy Soup...

I am now in Toronto for the next 10 days if anyone wants to get together at a show and have a few drinks... or just go for coffee.  In particular, I will be at C'est What's last two shows (ever!  :'() Friday Aug 20, and Sat Aug 21.  Coincidentally, both nights feature former Slean bandmates Kevin Fox and Kurt Swinghammer.

also slightly unrelated...but of a slean relation...

you'll notice in toronto--nutty chocolatier on yonge street has closed. replaced by canadian newstand or one of those mag shops.

too bad...ill have to go somewhere else for my downtown fix.

im hoping it was the best kind of situation--like they wanted to maybe close and do something else?...but as we know, thats not always the case.

I thought that the Nutty Chocolatier was sold by Slean's parents and owned by someone else now anyway? Is that right? My ex-boyfriend, when we were dating, went to TO and bought me a chocolate grand piano from that store. It was really cute, but didn't quite survive the plane ride home.

Good chocolate though!

yeah, they sold it several years ago now.  I also heard recently that it had closed down altogether.  Too bad really.  They had good chocolate.

I was in Kensington Market today and found a pretty good chocolate shop there... though not as big... nor as extensive.

it was splendid!

I was there 10 nights and went to 9 shows (not all were at night... but that's still pretty impressive).

I saw almost EVERY single musician that has ever served as a bandmate to sarah (unintentionally) as well as the likes of the Fembots, Royal Wood, and Danny Michel (just to name a few).

I even saw Sarah in the audience for NQ Arbuckle.  There were maybe 30 people there and I was sitting near the front when I heard a familiar laugh behind me.  Thinking it was a friend, I turned my head and voila! sarah.  Weird.

John was playing bass for NQ and I know that Sarah and NQ are old friends so I guess it makes sense.

As for the city... I think I am in love.  There is so much to see and do!

As for love... I think Toronto residing Frenchmen will be the death of me!
