Title: Sonic Bloom on the 29th
Post by Phrenic on May 11th, 2004, 8:41pm
The main site says she'll be there performing 3 new songs. Does that mean that she'll only be performing three songs total? I know it's for a good cause, but I'm not sure I can justify $90.00 for three songs. Any info would help me make a decision!

Last year she played 4 songs, if that helps.

I don't have a lot of money by any means but to put this into perspective, I didn't have to think more than two seconds about going. I went last year and after one Sarah song, I said I could leave happy now. I would honestly pay 3 times the amount (cheap seats are only $30!) to see this show!

Please take my reccommendation and go ... you won't regret it :)

Hi all, been a while since I've posted anything but Sonic Bloom has awoken my excitement level. As Su pointed out, tickets are as cheap as 30 dollars, reduced from 90 so I urge you all to jump on the bandwagon. It will be my first time seeing Sarah since her last Rivoli show. I'm excited to hear any new material and how her material sounds with an orchestral component mixed in. Anxiously awaiting and chomping at the bit, hope that many of you are too!

Honestly, it was amazing last year :)

I just ordered tickets and got front row, balcony ... $30 each. Same spot I had last year (and I paid $90 each last year) ... the view from the balcony is great ... the floor is overrated, in my opinion.

People, please go. If not for me, to support Sarah and other canadian talent. Last year Sarah was so incredibly touched at the response from the crowd ... it was a wonderful sight. And oh yeah, a couple of her paintings were up for auction at the end of the night  :D

Well, I just ordered the tickets. I went with the $30 balcony side ones. Seats 11 and 10. Hopefully I'll be able to see her, but at least I'm guaranteed to hear her. Thanks for the encouragement and guidance guys and gals.

Three songs are not enough. :)  Sarah said she was nervous but it didn't really show.  Such lovely acoustics, too.

Out in the Park
California
The Score

I really enjoyed Out in the Park and The Score.  Having heard them being played live previously, the symphony just added that extra umph...for lack of a better word. ;D She mentioned that The Score was about a dream with black birds.  California just isn't the same without guitars...it felt somewhat empty. :/

The program also mentioned that the album would be called 'Day One', not Baroness.

I wasn't sure what the first song was called. Thanks for the info. I was so glad she played The Score, I really wanted to hear that with the orchestra. Although the Barenaked Ladies were enjoyable they should have taken some time away from them and given it to the rest of the performers. They all deserved an even amount of time.
