Random threads seem to be the way to go around here, so I've put together a little something to introduce myself and for you to do likewise (if you're so inclined)

1. If you were in a twelve step program what would it be for? Starburst candy and Chapters.Indigo online
2. Do you watch too much TV? yes, but the cabel is gone by June 1
3. The last book you read? Master and Margartia by Mikhail Bulgakov
4. Your secret favourite movie (ie the movie you're ashamed to like)? The Sweetest Thing with Cameron Diaz

6. Your favourite beer? Heineken . . . mmm beer
7. Where would you be if you were anywhere but here? A tiny greek island called Patmos (I promise you that no place on earth will ever instantly make you take a deep breath)
8. If you could be a professional student what program would you enroll in? LITERATURE!!!
9. What is sinful? chocolate and peanut butter ice cream
10. Do you have a palm pilot? sweet fancy moses no!
11. What does your answering machine say? You've reached Crystal, speak your peace.

13. Are you tech saavy? I can navagate the internet and turn my computer on and off and that pretty much exhausts my computer knowledge.
14. Do you like your job? I'd rather join up with a metor suicide cult.

G'day Crystal!  :)   Yes, we're a random bunch here.

A good first post IMO.  :)

And my answers to the questions:

1. If you were in a twelve step program what would it be for?
"Sanity for Beginners"

2. Do you watch too much TV?
I usually watch 1-3 hours a week.

3. The last book you read?
"Iraq's Nuclear Mirage: Memoirs and Delusions" by Imad Khadduri

4. Your secret favourite movie (ie the movie you're ashamed to like)?
Resident Evil

5. The last CD you bought?
"Once" by Nightwish (on pre-order)

6. Your favourite beer?
None... I'm a spirits kinda guy.

7. Where would you be if you were anywhere but here?
Lord Howe Island (off the east coast of Australia)

8. If you could be a professional student what program would you enroll in?
Psychology

9. What is sinful?
Commercialisation

10. Do you have a palm pilot?
No

11. What does your answering machine say?
It just beeps... I do the talking, not the machine.

I don't listen to the radio.

13. Are you tech saavy?
Kinda. I know enough to get by.

14. Do you like your job?
Yes, I do. Been in the same job for 9 years now and still enjoy it!

uhhhh...is this asking whats the matter with me?!  i resent that!  no just kiddin....i dunno...at all...im pretty crazy, and im addicted to harry potter....thats it!  harry potter anonymous!

2. Do you watch too much TV?
nah...not much actually...about 3  hours a week (though ive gone over that already this week....watched 10.5...the earthquake miniseries....soooo good!)  

3. The last book you read?
well, technically, it was harry potter and the order of the phoenix...but ive already read it a bunch, and its so sporadically....so really, it was the virgin suicides!  

4. Your secret favourite movie (ie the movie you're ashamed to like)?
no...none, i dont think....if i think a movies gonna be corny, i dont watch...and if i do see a dumb movie, im upfront about it

5. The last CD you bought?
i think it was my cheap cds that i bought at the uni from the radio station (donated for the shave your head for cancer thing): eve6 (the older one), new better than ezra, ocean avenue by yellowcard, for my friend (coz i already have it), some canadian compilation put together by CBC (DNTO) with shaun verrault and nathan wiley on it...

6. Your favourite beer?
ermm....dont drink beer unless im really drunk.....so, hardly ever! coz it tastes icky

7. Where would you be if you were anywhere but here?
in new zealand with my babies! (my neice and nephew)

dont listen to the radio...calgarys got stupid stations now!  gawddamnit!

i couldnt build you anything technical, but i can point click and send!  heheh!

ih, its not bad....pretty slack and not demanding at all, skill wise (im a cashier at a grocery store...) i like it more for the ppl though...coworkers, not customers

If I ever watch TV it's usually "Cold Case Files" or "American Justice" on A&E.

I just finished Dina's Book (an English Translation of the Norwegian novel Dinas Bok) by Herbjorg Wassmo

4. Your secret favourite movie (ie the movie you're ashamed to like)?
Titanic.  (I hide my head in shame.)

5. The last CD you bought?
"Old World Underground, Where are you Now?" - Metric

6. Your favourite beer?
Euw, beer.  If I have to drink it though, I prefer darker beers.  Caesars are my drink of choice.

7. Where would you be if you were anywhere but here?
hanging out with my little brother

8. If you could be a professional student what program would you enroll in?

9. What is sinful?
guilt.

10. Do you have a palm pilot?
Heavens No!

11. What does your answering machine say?
pretty generic: "hi, you've reached Nicole at --insert my number here-- I can't come to phone right now so if you leave your name, number and a brief message, I'll get back to you as soon as possible."

I don't listen to the radio except for waking up in the morning and it's usually set to the French station.  But, there are MANY songs I hear that make me want to claw my eyeballs out.  Right now, ANYTHING by Janet Jackson.

13. Are you tech saavy?
hehe... no.  but I'm reeeally good at pretending.

14. Do you like your job?
yeah.  I work with a woman who has mental illness and she continually reminds me how the simplest things in life can bring the greatest joy.

There are several, but the most recurrent ones that come at the most bizarre times:

1. If you were in a twelve step program what would it be for? Slurpees, Matthew Good music, MSN Messenger, head-fi.org and thebrokenrecord.com.
2. Do you watch too much TV? Not anymore... lately I only watch 'Arrested Development' regularly.
3. The last book you read? I believe it was Animal Farm by George Orwell... I am halfway through 'The Regulators' by Richard Bachman (aka Stephen King)
4. Your secret favourite movie (ie the movie you're ashamed to like)? Hmmm... I don't really have any, I'm not ashamed to like the movies that I do.
5. The last CD you bought? The 'Com Lag EP' by Radiohead
6. Your favourite beer? Sleeman's... although I have yet to try Stella Artois or Granville Island Brewery or Guinness, so my experience is limited.
7. Where would you be if you were anywhere but here? No idea. There are so many beautiful places around the world that I would love to travel to... so far I have only covered land between Vancouver (BC) to Edmonton (Alberta), and Kelowna (BC) to California (USA).   I'm hoping to go to Montreal for 2 weeks this summer.
8. If you could be a professional student what program would you enroll in? Still trying to decide that, which is the only reason I won't be enrolled come September.
9. What is sinful? Dark chocolate and strawberries. And Dr. Pepper slurpees. And mocha coffee with a shot of hazelnut or vanilla.
10. Do you have a palm pilot? Heck no... but I am looking to buy a hard-drive based portable mp3 player. (iRiver ihp-350, Apple iPod, Dell DJ, Rio Karma)
11. What does your answering machine say? Hi we're not in, leave a message. (Basic and uninteresting :P)
12. The song on the radio that makes you want to claw your own eyeballs out? "I Hate Everything About You" by Three Days Grace, and also most Nickelback or Theory of a Deadman songs... I know that sounds like I'm just saying that cause everyone says it, but... yeah it's kinda true. Oh, and Kelis' 'Milkshake' song.
13. Are you tech saavy? I'm quite decent at stuff... I wouldn't call myself savvy though.
14. Do you like your job? Love it. Good friends, good atmosphere, friendly customers, great hours, great boss, minimum wage but the job is so easy we don't even deserve it hehe.
