I've been listening to a lot of Patty Griffin lately.  She's such a wonderful songwriter and her voice is beautiful.  I'd recommend her to anyone.

I've been on the tegan and sara as well, but also have been listening to broken social scene it's just crazy great!

besides all of our canadian faves, i recently got a funny CD from a friend of two canadian guys, also known around in the music community.
anyway its dave matheson and maury lafoy and they are "the ground crew" in the ground crew sing cocktail hour favourites.

the two of them actually do this every week-as the band that entertains the live audience during tapings of royal canadian air farce.
ive gone and they are funny, nice and they know just how to play an instrument or two.

Actually, he's my cousin - really great stuff. We're playing a show tomorrow night in Toronto - 6pm early show. It's at the 360 on Queen - everyones welcome

I like andy stochansky.  I saw him play live last year and really especially enjoyed his stage presence.  My favourite song would have to be "22 steps"

I was looking at your website last week Matt and noticed that you were cousins with Andy.  How neat is that!

if you want to check out some good canadian music, there is this great band named BRIGHTON, from Montreal.  www.brightonhq.com, a bit harder than Sarah, but amazing talent!!!!
