Title: Hayden Post by Nikolita on Jan 22nd, 2004, 6:14pm I think my life is now complete. My three favourite musicians would have to be Sarah Slean (#1) Hayden at a very close second and then Hawksley Workman. It was my goal to see these three play live in my lifetime (and possibly meet them) but I was sure it would never happen because I hadn't heard of anything new happening with Hayden for over a year and a half. No shows, no recordings, nothing. Yesterday I randomly checked his website and he is putting on a few shows in the next few months! AND he is coming to Vancouver!!! I nearly passed out when I saw it. I am in love with his music. I seriously am. I don't even know if he is second or if he and Sarah are both number one. Anyways, he has collaborated with Sarah so if you think you've never heard him before, he's the one playing guitar in "I Want to Be Brave" at the end of Blue Parade. Go check him out if he is coming to your area. Jan 28 - Waterloo ON Jan 31 - Vancouver BC Feb 6 - Brampton ON Feb 7 - St Catherines ON April 13 - Ferndale MI ~ng |

Title: Re: Hayden Post by ilostmyself on Jan 22nd, 2004, 10:33pm Hey Nikolita, I was reading the paper last week and stumbled upon that Rock For Choice concert series in the listings. I think I'll be going, it's only $12 a show. Sarah Harmer is playing the night previous to Hayden, so that should be interesting, she has a new album coming out in the next couple months. So: Jan 30th - Sarah Harmer Jan 31st - Hayden ;D -Scott. (sapphiremodena) |

Title: Re: Hayden Post by ilostmyself on Jan 27th, 2004, 2:33am But I'm sooo shy. :-[ And I am not really a Hayden fan yet, I've only heard about half of Skyscraper National Park. (So far, what I've heard, I've liked, especially All In One Move, Street Car, and Bass Song. Dynamite Walls is also quite decent.) So I think I might feel a little out of place with my limited knowledge and whatnot. If you see me at the concert though, don't hesitate to say hi. I'd like to meet you regardless of my shyness. In the next few days maybe I'll post with a message of what I might be wearing or whatever, so that you can know it's me if you spot me. Thank god these are both all ages shows. Lately I've been seeing lots of listings for great concerts only to find that they are at Richards on Richards or Commodore Ballroom, both of which are 19+. I'm only 18 now but in another 10 months I'll be able to go to any concert that I want. :) -Scott. (sapphiremodena) |

Title: Re: Hayden Post by Nikolita on Jan 27th, 2004, 8:30am don't be shy! I am NOT intimidating AT ALL. I am not a Hayden buff by any means and I am bringing a friend who has never heard anything of his. I don't know what you're up to after the show, but a group of us from the wasteyourdaysaway forum are going to meet up afterwards and go over to DV8 for some drinks/food/chat. It's all ages as well, so you don't have to worry about that. take care amigo! ~nicole g |

Title: Re: Hayden Post by ilostmyself on Jan 29th, 2004, 6:59pm That might be cool depending on what time the concert ends. It's good to know I wouldn't be out of place. Argh I'm not sure if I can go to the concerts though. See I just heard about them about 2 weeks ago, and I really should have ordered my tickets earlier. I'm not sure if they're still available, but if they are I'll do my best to grab one. The ticketmaster.ca checkout says that they can't find the ticket I'm looking for, so basically there are none left thru ticketmaster.ca. Hopefully it's a problem with the website, or maybe I can get them somewhere else. Sometimes Zulu Records has a few odd tickets, or the venue holds some tickets at the door for sale just before the show. Anyways, wish me luck! -Scott. |

Title: Re: Hayden Post by Nikolita on Jan 29th, 2004, 8:09pm Hopefully there are still tickets! When I got mine last week the girl said there were still 200 tickets left but who knows!? I'll stop by the ticketmaster on my way to class tomorrow morning and let you know. here's to crossing our fingers! :-/ ~nicole g |

Title: Re: Hayden Post by ilostmyself on Jan 29th, 2004, 9:26pm Also another thing is that time sort of restricts me. I'm working 10:00am-6:30pm Friday and 8:30am-6:30pm Saturday so I'll call Ticketmaster, Zulu, Van East Cultural Centre on my lunch breaks I suppose, since I'm not sure what their work hours are. Looks like the chances of me going to Sarah Harmer tomorrow night at very, very limited. If there are tickets left for Hayden on Saturday though, who knows I might have a shot in the dark at it. Crossing fingers are good! ;) -Scott. |

Title: Re: Hayden Post by Maggie on Jan 31st, 2004, 8:42pm Hey, I'm really new to this site, and I sort of feel like I'm interrupting a conversation, since it seems to be just the two of you posting on this page, but when I saw Hayden I was intrigued... I'm a big Hayden fan, and I just wanted to say thanks, cause I had no idea he was playing at all til I read your post! I'll be trying to hard to catch him either in st. catharine's or brampton. Both so far away, but totally worth the trip! -Maggie |

Title: Re: Hayden Post by Lo-Fi Superstar on Feb 13th, 2004, 9:13pm I already said this in a past post but it's such a good story I shall share it again. I was at the BEST Sarah Slean show in the HISTORY of the WORLD...*clears throat* and I needed to, um, pee. So, on my way out of the Trinity sanctuary I asked a bearded dude by the entrance is he knew where the washrooms were, he pointed by the stairs and helped me out. So, I went over and actually met a famous TV actor, the guy that was in 'Road to Avonlea' uh, Felix...So, I got to take a photo with him which was cool (seeing as my Mom was quite a fan of the show :S). Anywho, to make a short story shorter, I checked the 'Nightbugs Hotel' after the show and read all comments about the evening and posted my own comments... I read in a post that HAYDEN had been there and watched the entire show. I was like, HEY thats pretty cool...at which point I (for the heck of it) went to see if Hayden had updated his website lately...and low and behold, I saw a recent photo of him, he had a beard and long hair... :O *gasp* So, now I have my 'Hayden told me where the washrooms were' story. I should've KNOWN it was him, but it does add a great deal of awesome to the fact that I didn't recognise him with hair. The Ind with an 'I' Jay |
