hi there... sorry, another annoying newbie post.  though i suck at playing piano, i was still hoping to try my hand at some of sarah's work.  i searched the internet a bit, inclusive of this message board, and didn't come up with anything.  so does anyone know where i can find some piano "tabs" of sarah's music?  ???

it would be well appreciated, thanks.

hey rachel,

right now there isn't any 'official' sheet music out, nor are there any full 'tabs' that i know of. a few of us on this board have taken up the task and are working on some songs. I'm working on 'universe' and 'john23', and Alex is working on 'book smart, street stupid'. that's it as far as i know, so if you'd like to work on a song or two as well, that'd be awesome! Unfortunately mine aren't coming along too quickly, but i'm sticking with it.  :D

PS - i'm a HUGE jeff buckley fan, as you apparently are as well. welcome to the board. its always nice to meet other JB fans.  ;D

it's awesome to know you're a jb fan as well.  :) love that boy.

thanks for all the information, it's a big help.  make sure to notify the board when you finish the sheet music... keep up the work on it! :) actually, i think i might try deciphering the piano for elliot sometime during the summer, when i have a bit more time to sit down and do that sort of thing.  hopefully it'll work out. :)

I'm working on "book smart..." as Felicity said, but i'm slow to do it as i'm new to piano and my life is so busy right now!. But
I really want to complete the song so when i have time, i clean up my ears and i work on it :) And as soon i finished i will put it in my website (http://www.sarahslean-france.com).

Btw, how many ppl here saw Jeff Buckley live? I did in a festival in 95 or 96 and I still remember it. It was so amazing! And he was very nice with the audience. I even took some live pics :) I'm sad that i will never be able to see him again sometimes...

unfortunately i never had the chance to see jeff live... i only discovered him for myself about a year and a half ago.  :( you're so lucky you had the opportunity... i'm so unbelievably jealous of those that did get to see him live.  *sigh*  but i bought the live in chicago video, and watching that regularly is enough to - sort of - suffice. :) either of you have it?

i was also one of the unlucky ones who didn't get to see Jeff live.  :'( But i, too, watch the dvd fairly often. I remember they aired that concert on MuchMusic (an edited version) a few years back that I taped and watched religiously.

I wish they'd release another. I guess they don't realize that Jeff fans are constantly hungry for more. Although I'm extremly excited that A Wished For Song is finally being published. A whole book of pictures of Jeff. Isn't that fantastic?

wow, that's a lot of bootlegs.  :o which reminds me, i have a ton of jeff buckley stuff to download when i get the time... damn schoolwork.

as for a wished for song, yeah, i am SO stoked!  a little impatient right now though, it was *supposed* to be released in may... and then i went to order it from amazon.com, and suddenly it said the book would be out on july 15th (or thereabouts).  grr!  i want my book of jeff pictures! :D that man is so unbelievably beautiful...

and, about the muchmusic thing: i am totally impressed and surprised that muchmusic ever aired that!  unfortunately i missed it (though i probably wouldn't have cared anyway, my not liking great music until a couple of years ago or so, stupid me)... and it's obvious mm won't be playing it again.  anyone else noticed that that station has gone to shits?  thankfully, muchmoremusic is a little better... aided me in my discovery of sarah, for instance.  :D

ahhh... it's so refreshing to know that there are other people out there that love jeff buckley as much, maybe more than, i do!  yay for jeff buckley's loyal following!  ;D

You know what is annoying though? I was going to order Wished For Song from amazon when i first heard that it was being published, but kept putting it off and putting it off.

Now when the publishing date has been confirmed and is drawing near, the price went up from 17.50 US to 30.00 US! What is *that* all about?? Maybe it'll be a little cheaper when its shipped up here an converted, rather than paying it in US funds to amazon... urg.

yeah i know, the price is a bit outrageous.  i suppose it's well worth it though... after it all, it *is* jeff we're talking about.  i'll probably buy it off of amazon anyway, because otherwise i'll liekly have to wait months for it... and i can't wait much longer.  :P
