Title: Piano (Sheet) Music?
Post by Felicity on May 4th, 2002, 6:49am
Hey guys!

I'm just wondering if anyone has tabbed out some of sarah's songs for the piano? I'm anxious to play her stuff, so if there aren't any transcriptions available right now I'll work on some.   :D

Thanks!
.:Steph:.

you know what i will do one day? i'm gonna STUDY the sweet ones video and get a feel for what the key is etc etc for the song and try and figure the rest out on the piano myself. there are a lot of piano playing shots in the video so i hope i'll get it. i've always wanted to play Madeliene on the guitar...  and st francis.

We did a tab of Madeliene... it's somewhere in the forum... but I got a copy on a page of my website... *searching the right address* .. ok ... it's there http://perso.wanadoo.fr/live-recordings/madeliene.htm

I also did some chords last week about "St Francis" and "Book Smart"...
Here is some stuff:
ST FRANCIS Standard Tuning
C F G
Am D Dm G
Am C Dm G Dm ( string: F# E D B ) G

C F G
C F G
Am D Dm ( 6th and 5th strings: F# E D B ) G
Am C Dm G Dm ( strings: F# E D B ) G

( Bridge ) F Am G

Am D Dm ( strings: F# E D B ) G
Am C ( strings: C E G A G and both C & E on the C chord )
Dm G Dm ( string: F# E D B ) G

C F ( the 13351x position in order to do the hammer on the 3rd strings like this 0h2 ) C

BOOK SMART
I've just written some chords...
C Am G F Em ( <- ? ) and that's all I did... lol

*christophe, St Francis tab is very accurate*

Hi

I've tried to work on elliot on my piano, And i already found how she plays the beggining; but since i'm new to piano it will take time to find the whole song. I do note to note perfect copy of the song :)

Anyway i started to convert it for my Nokia mobile ! I already have Sarah as my startup logo on it ;)

Alex

If someone is interested to help me with this song please email me;

Hi Erin

I really hope that you will share your work on "bank account" with us.
It would be great if we could put somewhere all our music scores related to Sarah on a website. I can host it on my Sarah Slean I think :)

:) I would really love to get my hands on sheet music to Dark rooms. I would love to have the sheet music to that. But since it is a quartet playing, there is no bass, and i am a bass player. Sarah you need to write in a double bass part! Has anyone made any phone tones of sarah's tunes?

Hey guys,

I've never actually posted sheet music up on the net. Are there any kind of copyright laws regarding it?

Lyn

There's laws about everything most of the time :)
But as there's no ones officially available, if you give them for free and you mention on the music sheet that the original song is copyrighted I don't think someone will worry you. And even if it would happen, the first time they just ask you to remove it that's all...
Many fans would appreciate much to have musicsheet of Sarah's songs! So let's hope that some musicians with good ears will help us :)

ok, so i gave up on the piano a few years ago , but yesterday i had my very first guitar lesson (i volunteered my brother-in-law to be my teacher) and i thoroughly enjoyed it but my fingers are soooo sore... anyway, to all you guitar players out there - any words of advice for a beginner?
I know this post has nothing really to do with piano music, but just wanted to share my excitement ;D

Hi Natalie!

First, welcome to the world of musicians :)

As a guitar player, I could give you some advices for sure:
- 1 note for 1 finger: if you have notes on the same string never use the same finger, but the closest finger to this note.
To be able to play with every fingers is important.
- Be patient, we don't become Jimi Hendrix in few weeks ;)
- Motivation is important, and many people give up after a short time because they can't play the song they wished. So don't be ashamed to play some easy songs at first, like Nirvana songs :)
- Always learn full notes, and not only some riffs. A song is a whole and it learns a lot to do this.

bar chords are evil... but after a year... I've almost got it... Don't let them turn you off the guitar.  that's my advice!

(yay for girls and guitars!)

i'm a 'teach yourself' type person, so i started learning guitar on my mom's old Kmart special nylon 6-string a few years back. I really enjoyed it and thought I was doing well until my brother picked it up one day and played it for the first time, but sounded like he'd been playing for years. That discouraged me a bit. That, and the fact that i couldn't really graps 'power chords' since my fingers aren't too long.

Anyhow, i put my guitar away one day last year and didn't play it for months. I just got it out again last week and couldn't believe how much I'd retained over that lengthy break, and how much I enjoyed playing it again. I really forgot what an awesome feeling you get from playing an instrument and making your own music.

To sum up this rather lengthy monologue, keep at it. if you feel you need to take a break, though, do it. You come back much more refreshed, it doesn't feel like such a chore. :D

Thanx for the encouragement guys... i am definitely determined and i really hope i will keep at it...so far i'm having a tough time with the chords because my fingers are not very long (i can relate to you there Felicity) but for once, i am a glad i have the nasty habit of biting my nails... i think long nails would just get in the way  :D
Anyways, thx for all the support  :'(   I am truly touched!!  ;)
