G'day folks,

Hopefully most of you have a copy of Night Bugs by now. If not - go and buy it now!  :)

The question I want to ask you is out of all the wonderful songs on Night Bugs, which one song is your favourite? Yes, I know it's an almost impossible question to answer, but if you had to pick just one song which one would it be?

For me, Me, I'm a thief stands out. It's darker and heavier than the other songs on the CD and I'm drawn to all things dark.

What about you?

I would have to agree with you, Seraphiel.  "Me I'm A Thief" has to be my new favorite SS song.  The lyrics are awesome and I would have to agree that it is darker than everything else on the CD.  

I also like "Sweet Ones" a lot.  When I got the EP I thought "Sweet Ones" was going to be on there, but I got "Bank Accounts" instead.  The song is just really fun. :)

I like "Duncan" as well because of the story behind it about the boy who fell in love and didn't go to war.  That's so sweet. :)

"Dark Room" is probably my second favorite.  I think it's cool that Sarah did an instrumental for the CD, and the emotion behind it is wonderful.  I love it!

It definitely is tough to pick a favorite!

I agree with both of you...'Me, I'm a Thief' is a really gooood song.  That and 'St. Francis' are my faves, with 'Duncan' and 'Drastic Measures' almost at the same level.  It used to be 'Sweet Ones' when I got the EP, but after hearing the whole LP... well, there's just so much good material!

I love the 'Book Smart, Street Stupid'/'Dark Room' package.  Did you guys read along with the lyrics of 'Dark Room'?  Awesome.  Sarah is oozing with talent!

Let's see... I would have to go with "Drastic Measures".  It has more a "pop" feel than most of her songs but, particularly live, it's a great piece of music.

well, I must say, I haven't a clue!  I mean I bought Night bugs last night, and have been listening to it ever since, I mean, I fell asleep with it on!  I love so many songs on this cd, that it's hard to pick one.  I gotta say, "weight" is way up there, along with "sweet ones" and "me I'm a thief".  I also love "drastic measures" and "bank accounts".  

I can't help but wonder how an artist feels when people look at their work.  It must be so scary, to expose yourself like that, expose what's in your mind and in your heart.  I don't know if I could ever be so strong, to take a risk like that, I mean, at times it scares even myself to know what's in my mind and heart.  But I guess the rewards outweigh the fear.  To know people understand, and have experienced these same emotions that you've exposed must be an INCREDIBLE feeling.  Right?  Well, I hope I'll get to that point, to be able to let more people in.  I have to say, I truly admire those who can.  And I'll shut up now ;)  Take time to enjoy a sunset, the rewards are endless.  Buhbye, no really, I'm going to shut up now!

I agree with all of you... I listened the album all the weekend and 'Me I'm A Thief' is a very "heavy" :D I love it particulary. Of course, 'Dark Room' is a wonderful classical ( dramatical ? ) piece and "Sweet Ones", "Weight" ( what a bass :D ) and "Drastic Measures" are great. Thankx a lot for all these recordings Sarah :)  :-*

Very hard call indeed, especially since this album doesn't all sound the same. I'd have to go with "Drastic Measures", it was the song that amazed me most when I first heard "Night Bugs". It's also the only song I didn't know, so that may have something to do with it.. Who know's, it's all real good  ;D

I truly loved the entire thing from the first listen...but Sweet Ones and Drastic Measures are my favorites to sing to.

You should have seen my little face when I got my copy in the mail....it was like Christmas, only better. :)

I hear you, I was soooo happy to get it!!  I think my favorite song on the album is Me, I'm a Theif, plus Book smart, street stupid.  I love her slow songs, and I can really hear the string instruments and it's so beautiful. I must say the more 'live' version of Eliot is AWESOME!! I felt like i was at the concert again.   :)

me i'm a thief is most enjoyable while listening to it before i sleep when it's dark and quiet; that song is KILLER

Um...depending on my mood and my feel of the day.
If I have funk on the wing and I'm feeling just dorey then it MUST be Sweet ones...it reminds me of the show and Sarah's eyes.

When I'm kinda bored, Me, I'm a Thief.

When I'm in nuetral, "Drastic Measures".
When that song ends I always write a song, never fails.

"Dark Room" is majestikk.

When my brother has the say-so it's "Bank Accounts"

And when I start it off from the beginning and don't stop it till it's done, which is most of the time...Eliot.

i agree. Me, I'm a Thief is my favourite song currrently...i've had it playing on a loop for the past 2 weeks and i've gotten it stuck in my sister's head  ;) - it's atmospheric.

Duncan and Sweet Ones are fun too - i love all the songs because they capture all different sorts of moods

ooh. Wait. Sweet ones is most likely to cheer me up anytime. (so, I caught myselft snapping my fingers to it in the bus the other day. Looked like a total fool. :P)

.. Perhaps I should give Me, I'm a thief another listen now, since it seems to be everyone's favorite. I love every single song on there, this on just never hit me as surpassing the others.  Okay. Other faves.. Eliot and Weight, most definitely. And.. ooh, damn, just so much to choose from. Amazing album.

I'd say that Sweet Ones is my favourite song on the Night Bugs album...I find it has a very catchy sound to it...and I've seen the music video a few times now too, which forces the imagery into my head everytime I hear the song   :P

I'd have to go with Bank Accounts and Book Smart, Street Stupid as my current faves. I love all the songs on the album but find myself listening to one or two more often than the others. These faves are constantly changing, though, so who knows what they will be next week. I can't get over this album. It blew me away the first time i heard it, start to finish.

My favorites are:

Book smart, street stupid. I just love that piece, I also really love Dark rooms. And drastic measures! the whole cd is great! thanks sarah! :) 5/5 stars

Its basically like the colours of life...
you could never choose just one.
You enjoy every colour for its purpose.
Night Bugs was thought through, worked on, its very obvious
that she put her heart into the album.
It pays off...
